Proud collaboration

At Daniel Chong we are always thinking of new ways to help the planet and the environment, but we are also close to people, supporting various causes. One of them is respect for the LGTBIQ+ collective.

For this reason, in full celebration of Pride month, we have decided to launch a very special initiative: a limited edition of our iconic Book Holder backpack. We have taken the official flag of the collective and transformed it into the colorful pocket of our backpack. But what is really important is not this. All profits obtained from the sale of this collaboration will be donated in full to the DECEMBER 26 FOUNDATION.

What is the December 26 Foundation?

It is a state-wide non-profit entity, created with the aim of making LGTBIQ+ older people visible. In 2010, its president Federico Armenteros was enjoying a few days in Gran Canaria when he realized the problem that existed with the invisibility of the older people belonging to the group and immediately wanted to solve the problem with the creation of this foundation that since In 2015, it carried out psychosocial intervention programs. Its objectives include specialized and professional psychosocial care for lesbian, gay, transsexual, bisexual and intersex (LGTBIQ+) elderly people, as well as residential care; or the management of resources for health, accommodation, inclusion and social insertion, socio-educational, and training and awareness, to improve the care and quality of life of the community served. One of its most special projects will be the Josete Massa residence, which is currently being built in the Villaverde neighborhood (Madrid), the first public LGTBIQ+ residence in the world. A milestone for the entire LGTBIQ+ community in Spain.

At Daniel Chong we greatly admire the work that the December 26 Foundation carries out. That is why we want to collaborate with them. And we do it, in the best way we know, designing unique accessories that accompany you in your day to day.
